Reflecting on the First Month
Start by acknowledging that the first month of the year can be an exciting but also challenging time when it comes to sticking to resolutions. Many people dive in full force but start to lose steam by February.

1. Track Your Progress: See How Far You’ve Come
Tracking progress is essential to maintain motivation. Whether it’s with a fitness app, a
calendar, or a simple notebook, it’s important to see how you’ve improved over time,
whether it’s lifting heavier weights or running longer distances.
Tip: Don’t just track the numbers—take note of the weather and how you feel after each
workout. These points are often overlooked but have an effect on your motivation.
2. Accountability is Everything
Whether it’s a workout buddy, a personal trainer, or a fitness group on social media,
having someone to hold you accountable can make a world of difference. When you
know someone is counting on you, it’s easier to push through on days when motivation
is low.
Tip: If you can’t find a workout partner in person, join an online fitness community or
use fitness challenges to stay connected with others.
3. Be Kind to Yourself: Progress Takes Time
Fitness goals are a marathon, not a sprint. It’s easy to get discouraged when progress
feels slow, but remember that every step forward is progress. Patience and consistency
are key.
Tip: If you miss a workout or have a setback, don’t be too hard on yourself. Get back to
it the next day—consistency over time matters more than perfection.
Stay Focused on the Bigger Picture
February is a great time to refocus on your resolutions. Reflect on what worked in
January, and adjust what did not work, and keep pushing forward. Always remembering your “WHY” behind their fitness journey.
